Peruvian Bardo x MGF Gypsy Woman
The huge, impressive Gypsy is one of our most recognized females. She has won several
ALSA Championships, including a 4th place at the first ALSA Grand National in a class of forty incredible, yearling heavy wool females. Gypsy also took a 5th at the Celebrity World Futurity. She has turned out to be one of our top breeding females, supplying her babies with as much as two pounds a day weight gain and very high IgG’s. Her babies have all been correct and have her intelligent disposition. YW Highlander, a jr. herdsire we are keeping in our program, demonstrates the incredible bone and substance that we just love in Gypsy and her crias. She is also the dam to YW Could it Be Magic (Frank and Judy Hoffreiter) and YW Smokin’ Vin Fizz.
Rinys’ King Crimson x PPR Rumpelteaser
Shania is a tall, stretchy female with an excellent topline; her silhouette bespeaks the “perfect” llama. Shania comes from the suri North American lines at East Fork, and her babies have had high luster, silky fiber. We are going to see if we can leverage those suri genetics by breeding her to our new suri male, Star Adonis. Shania is an excellent mother and her babies have had her size and solid structure. She is one of those classic quality females with today’s high luster, silky/suri fiber. Her babies include YW Rumba and YW Shalom Cruz.
Macho De Las Montanas x FW Somekindahoney
Tia is a full Bolivian girl out of the respected “Monty” and Honey lines. I just love her palomino color, and her fleece has sold every year. All of Tia’s babies have been very correct with super silky fiber, and the best dispositions. Tia is a great mom, and one of those consistent, “no-worries” mothers that become treasured foundation dams. She is the mother of YW Phoenix, YW Alaska Cruz (owned by Dortha Little), YW Tiajuana Cruz, and current cria by Smokin Gun.
Taj Mahal of Tunitas Creek x Shangri-Llama’s Grace
We purchased Gracie in Reno almost a decade ago, and she has been integral to our herd ever since. If the industry recognized what suri fiber was back then, her price would have been beyond our reach. She has been an excellent mother, producing a half a dozen crias for us so far, including the incredible YW Kona Lady, who we retained in our progam. What a surprise to have Kona and Gracie, both shiny, black llamas, give us beautiful appaloosa babies last spring! Gracie’s babies have had her solid, heavy bone, and all her babies have her silky, shiny fiber, some of which have been nearly suri. We will try to encourage that suri content with a breeding to Adonis. Her babies include YW Scirocco, YW Kona Lady, and YW Sand Pebble Cruz.
LW Marcellus x PPLP Huckaboo
Although Michele has her ALSA ROM and we are very proud to show her, her real fame is from her carreer as a PR and therapy llama. Michele has the most beautiful head and proud carriage, and when we visit a health care facility, you can hear the “ooh’s and aaah’s” from everyone! Michele simply loves the attention from childrem and adults, thriving on all the handling, touching, hugging, bumping of wheel chairs, and even the occasional over-zealous hair pulling. Michele is one of the few llamas to have earned her Delta Society certification as a Pet Partner. We have held off breeding her even though she is an adult, in order to use her for valuable visits at our local children’s home and Riley Hospital summer camps. She is often specifically requested to attend, and we just cannot disappoint her many fans. Showing and breeding are more fullfilling when we also share our llamas with those who really appreciate their visits. At some point we will breed Michele, and we hope she has a clone of herself that is just a versatile!
WLK Bravo x Forrest Meadows Lucy in the Sky
This girl is a keeper for us. Her dam, Lucy, is a multi-time champion of incredible beauty. When I first saw Luci Lui, at one hour old, she was standing by her mother and looked like she could take Champion in the show ring before she had even dried off! Luci Lui is turning heads in the show ring with several high placings and many ALSA points. She took 3rd at the Millenium Magic Futurity show!
Machuco x Riley-Mystical Moonglo
When I first saw this girl, all I could say was, “Wow.” She had high luster, true suri locked fiber. But she was a big girl, with a super beautiful “llama head” with gorgeous hooked ears. If you know her bloodlines including Machuco and Peruvian Amigo, you can imagine what she looks like; now picture that with suri fleece! She is the “type” of suri llama we want to reproduce. She is bred to Peruvian Kordero, Suri ALSA Halter Champion, and we are hoping to combine the best of both these lines!
OAB La-Mar’s Llevi x Ivory Pond’s Jackie
This little lady has had a huge impact on our breeding program, and is a prized “grandma” to many babies. Every one of her five cria have been champions in ALSA classes, and recently have also taken top winnings in futurity classes. Princess has her ALSA ROM and ALSA Halter Championship in Produce of Dam, having taken Grand or Reserve POD seven times with babies by three different males. Princess’s pedigree goes back to some old famous lines including Union Jack. Although Princess is average in size, her offspring have been tall and stretchy, and have the body capacity and “spring of rib” that seems to be disappearing from many of today’s fine-fibered llamas. She produces quality fleece, from silky to nearly-suri. Princess has more than earned her place as one of our top foundation females.
Her offspring include the champion-winners YW Chatelaine, YW Smoke Jumper (one of our Jr. herdsires), YW Double Impact (Marlene Gruetter), YW Curious Cat (also Best in Show), and First Place Hot Mama Futurity winner, YW Hot Java.
Whist x VignetteDOB
Vana is likely the largest female of our many big girls, hailing from Kay Patterson’s program. She has the long upright neck of the El Fuerte line, and passes that valuable trait to her offspring. Vana has taken Champion in the show ring, and is a proven champion-producer with strong, tall, large babies with super banana ears. She is an excellent milker, and although she is medium wool, her fiber is fine and her babies have good fiber coverage, showing in medium and heavy wool classes. All of her offspring are excellent show and breeding stock. Vana is an excellent foundation female, with the size and mothering abilities that we want in our program. She is the mother of YW Vanadium (owned by Marlene and Carl Gruetter), YW Voyager and YW Valkyrie, by Smokin Gun, who we are retaining in our program.
We are offering Vana bred to your choice of males. Imagine getting a suri offspring with Vana’s size, substance, and ears! Her fine-fibered babies have all been large and impressive. She will satisfy the showman and breeder of big, strong llamas bred to your choice of our show-winning males!
LW Captain Curry x “Princess” Summer Fall Winter Spring
One of our “Curry Girls,” Chatty is by the incredible show producer, “Princess.” Chatty has over 40 ALSA points and four Grand or Reserve Championships including Reserve Champion at the tough Buckeye Regional Show. Chatty’s taupe brown fiber hides dilute reverse appy spots. She is a great mother and has produced very correct offspring with super-silky fiber. Chatty is large female with a lot of capacity, and yet is very gentle and handleable, making her a farm favorite. She always gathered a crowd at the shows by begging Gatorade which she loved to drink from a bottle. She still comes running anytime she sees I have a cool drink in hand! She is the mother of YW Champagne Cruz and Smokin’ Ebony and Lace.
LW Captain Curry x Grace & Favor of King MT
Kona is one of our renown “Curry girls” that we kept in our program. It was difficult to choose which beautiful show photo to put on this site! Kona was Reserve Champion Medium Wool Juvenile Female at the Grand National, earned 40+ ALSA points and multiple champion and reserve champion placings, and finsihed her show career with a Top Ten (6th) at the LFA Futurity. She has proven to be a good mother and has passed her silky, high luster, locked fiber to her outstanding cria including YW Kailua Cruz.
LW Captain Curry x Quinientos Pinta
Although so many of our llamas hold special places in our hearts, Pinata is my personal, all time favorite. She was the perfect show llama, not only knowing exaclty what to do, but also knowing when she had won! She earned her ALSA ROM, a Championship, 7th at Grand Nationals and 7th at the Celebrity World Futurity. We had a fun career in the show ring, where Pinata became more of a partner than “just” a show llama. Pinata’s mother is continuing to produce show-quality cria, and we are anxious to have Pinata’s first cria, hopefully to follow in her footsteps!
